NWN Updater broken - 1.69 update not found on server error

It seems the updaters for NWN is now broken
Does the link listed to the critical rebuild work?

points to nowhere, no redirection setup either.

when visiting Bioware.com and clicking on Patches it goes to an EA website which cannot host the updater files because Atari owns em.

I do not see the insentive purchasing further games from Bioware.

               The updater hasn't worked for years.

Use the v1.69 Critical Rebuild for the game version you have installed.  There is a discussion in the General subforum about the closing of the legacy Bioware site that contained all these files like patches and rebuilds which has a list of the direct links to the files.  But you will need to read a bit to find them.

Just for your own edification, when EA assumed ownership of NWN they apparently had no intention of continuing to support a 10-year old game... so new NWN consumers must now "dig" to resolve such issues.  Fortunately, there are enough die-hards still on this forum that can help to hash out most of the problems, but patience is a necessary adjunct to achieving adequate assistance.

               The HotUUpdate 1.69 is causing my launcher to crash no error just crashes and then stops running? what can I do to fix that problem? I am running neverwinter nights diamond edition.

You can't use the normal update - you need the critical rebuild. You can download and apply it automatically using our custom updater, ARF2, if you like, though you'll probably need to reinstall before you do to clear out the mess that the normal 1.69 made. If memory serves, Diamond also comes with the critical patch on the cd, if you prefer that to using our updater.

If you used the link in my old post here, I just checked and its still Bioware's original update and should be fine.

It probably is the same file I have (was some time since I downloaded) I think I may have found the link over at http://neverwintervault.org/ 

When I try that link you posted I get the same malware warning. Probably a false positive then, I've heard avast give them every now and then. I'll just go ahead and ignore it. Thanks for the help '>
