No Campaign Movies on Win7
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:26:51 am »

               I got NWN installed a few days ago on my win7 (64bit) laptop and got it running but i can't get the Campaign movies to run, I only hear the Story, while the loadscreen still appear on the screen.

I have tried Safe movie in nwnplayer.ini but i didn't change anything.

Note that Intro movies and the trialer with the minotaur works fine. But if I start a new OC Camapign, i will not see the pictures in the intro.

(I can skip it and start playing without a issue)

Just want to know if anyone got those working?

               I see that the original post is over a year old, but I just tried to put NWN on my win 7 machine, and I get the same problem.  Everything works great---but the cut-scenes / chapter transition movies do not play.  Like the above poster, the voice is there, and I get ESC out and play again fine.  Just wondering if anyone had a tip on this?

               <saying something...>

I had no problem with NwN under Win 7, but I had UAC turned off.

Under Win 8, I run NwN in xp compatibility mode and again, no probs.

Hope some of that helps ;-/

<...just to have said *something*>

               Thank you.  I might try installing without UAC on.  I can move my current saved games out of the game, and then transfer them back in after a new install, yes?

I did, however, find a work-around: I changed the ini file to allow windowed mode; the campaign movies run fine then.
