NWN Hordes of the Underdark: hirelings wont fight

               As in the title just recently as i got on to play the game, both the drow and the tiefling wont fight, ive talked to them to change what they do, pressed the 'v' key and used the emotes, and also right-clicked them but no matter what i do they wont fight anything, they'll just watch me die then die themselves after getting destroyed by whatever killed me.

               Dispatch them both back at the temple.  Then try rehiring one at a time and then test each in combat situations.  What in-combat command are you using... "Attack Nearest"?  When you command them to Follow, do they follow?  When you command them to Stand Ground to they stand where they are?  If they are not responding to commands, I would suspect the AI didn't load properly for whatever reason.

Nathyrra has the wiz/assassin level-up package so the sooner you get her to limit her progress to only assassin, the more effective she will be in combat.  You need to set her preferences to casting no spells or buffs.  I have found that in order to get her AI to respond the way I wanted, I would force her to expend all her buffs prior to combat. Casters have the propensity to stand around buffing themselves while your PC does all the killing.

You should have no such issue with Valen, so you might have inadvertently set a preference or command that is neutralizing his effectiveness in battle.  He is most effective with the Large Flail he came with.

Also note, that unless you cast True Seeing on either/both of them, they won't be able to spot hiding or invisible creatures.  "See Invisibility" and "Invisibility Purge" are other spells that can reveal foes for them.  Just because your PC can see an enemy don't assume they can as well.

               thanks that fixed it, but just fyi i was fighting golems and as far as i know they werent invisible
