Hi folks,
I have resurected a PC that I had put aside a few months back in order to, amongst other things, have another go at NWN as this was installed on it. However, I'm having trouble getting NWN to display.
Several things have changed since NWN was last run so I cannot be sure which is the cause but I suspect that the configured display resolution is too high for my monitor to handle. In case someone more expert thinks otherwise here is a list of events.
I used to run the game at max resolution on a 2000x?
res. CRT monitor. In the meantime that monitor died and now I now have a 1368x768 LCD. I have also applied a kernel update and was thus forced to rebuild my video driver. However, the rest of the system appears very healthy with only NWN having problems.
I have:-
NWN1 version is probably 1.69 but I cannot be certain.
OS is Kubuntu Hardy Heron
Video card is nVidia Geforce 6200
Monitor is Packard Bell Viseo 190w @ 1368x768. This is the highest I can get it to go.
When I start NWN it seems to be working fine, I can hear the sound behaving as expeected. However the screen is blank except for a red rectangle drifting around with the text 'Input not supported'.. I am 95% certain that this display is a monitor error message but I cannot rule out that it is being generated by the PC?
Is there a way to reset NWN's resolution externally. I have tried deleting the 'nwn.ini' file with no joy. Or can anyone think of anything else?
Cheers, Kimdino
