               I have a remote dedicated server, and to use it I need to use FTP and edit the nwnplayer.ini file to remotely set up the server, but Im totally not sure of the steps to do this without doing damage, has anyone got a guide for simpletons to help?                What exactly are you trying to change I suppose.  The best way is to download your nwnplayer.ini, edit it, change the name of the old copy on your server (just in case) and upload you new and improved version.



There are a lot of flags that can be set in that file.  See this link.

               The whole lot is on a rented online server, so the only way to activate the server is by the ini file as the server exe can not be used via ftp.

               You can't start a server by ini I think.  With things like NWNx you still need to execute an exe.



Maybe someone else with more expertise on such a setup can help, I've always preferred to keep my servers a bit closer so I can fix and restart them as needed.

               Im using serverroom, the people on the tech line insisited it was from the ini file, as obviously you cant execute a exe online.
