DM-Client crashes server (with a twist)
« on: July 28, 2010, 01:01:42 pm »

I know it's an old tale and have read tons of posts about the custom palette that cannot be too big.

And i haven't run into that problem since i've started loading up a premade server. However I just recently ran into a strange crash-bug.

It would seem that evertime i enter as a DM the second time during a server session it crashes the server. Not the first time. Only the second. The log only specifies that  "XXX Has joined as a DM" and doesnt get anymore specific than that.

I dont know much about coding or programming. The obvious idea that springs to my mind is that some of the tons of subsystems (DMFI, Crafting, persistency and so on) loads stuff into the palette and this makes it exceed it's capacity. Is that likely to be the cause?

Another theory is that somehow DMFI is involved since they load something from the bioware database or something.

Any idea about where to go from here?
