Hak Help, Sil Vous Plait!
« on: March 24, 2014, 07:20:30 pm »

Hey everyone,

I hit a wall at trying to add additional clothing options to my hak. While I had no difficulties with the placeables and creatures, clothing options seem to be a whole different thing. Unlike creatures and placeables, the respective .2da files do not reference the model names.

Basically, my questions are "how do I find the specific model names" of the clothing part, and how do I alter the respective .2da files to add them?

I did not manage to find a tutorial or a topic about this, but if there has been one, please leave a link.

Thanks!

               See Custom Content Guide.

That article probably has more than you need, but it explains the model names and 2da files really well.

Once you've digested that, note that the part number in the toolset is different from the model number, because the toolset sorts parts by Armour Class. This is a nuisance, but you can create a cross-reference by sorting your 2da files. The CEP top hak is one example of how to add models. Their parts 2da files have non-integral armour classes (e.g. 2.005) which has no impact in game, but ensures that the sort order is predictable. I try to add new models to the end of the toolset dropdown (with the exception of chest parts, the only case in which it is useful to have them in AC order).
