PC Standing on Placeable ?
« on: December 26, 2013, 01:57:42 pm »

               Quick version,
Question, is it at all possible to jump a PC on top of a placeable ?
More detailed,
Latest CEP,City Exterior tileset. I set a conversation on a docked rowboat. I then set a rowboat next to an undocked ship. I placed a waypoint on the boat, and attempted to jump the player there. I can here you groaning. From what I have read on the forums, what happens is the expected (PC lands on nearest tile on the ship). I know that I can work around this in the original convo, but I thought it would be a better visual, to have a PC in the boat, and give them a choice of climbing to the deck, or sneaking in a porthole. I have read threads on texturing and came to the conclusion, that if I try this, I'm going to break something. Is there an easier way for a noob to do this ?

It truly depends on the underlying tile that the placeable is painted onto.  If the underlying tile has a wokmesh that is NOT walkable, then NO, you can't put a walkable mesh on top.  In your case, deepwater is not walkable.  typically water deep enough for a ship is not walkable by the game engine.  Some tile-sets can override this, but normally not.

               Bannor Bloodfist,
Yeah that's kinda what I figured. Oh well. Thanks for the response. The encounter seems to play well even without the visual.
