First-time poster, been using the toolset for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It occupies much of my day, and the current module I'm working on (which is for 14th-16th level characters) has grown to be quite massive.

Since I have been using the toolset (it's actually occupied far more of my time than the main campaign) I have been trying to make quests in my module using Conversations and variables/journal entries rather than using the plot wizard.

Which have you all found easier to use for your plots? There is often a fair amount of exposition and going different routes through a conversation in mine, so I have found that using the conversation editor is better, as the plot wizard seems better for smaller mini-quests.

I have never used the Plot wizard.
All of the people i have heard talk about it say thit it is a wast of time to use it.  It uses to many local vars and makes scripts that are hard to debug/upgrade if you ever need to mess with them.  Since we have moved here to the social site I have only seen one other post on the plot wizard and the sugestion was made to them to not use it.
I would have to agree.  Conversation if needed and  write your own scripts.  If you can not write your own scripts there are three script generatior out there that can help.
 NWN Scripting Programs:

Lilac Soul's NWN Script Generator V2.3
ScriptEase
PRC Neverwinter Script Compiler v2.0

there is also the scripting forum if you need help.

I've never used the plot wizard either.

I manually create the journal entries then use conversation nodes or events (killing a boss, entering a specific area, etc.) to update the journal. I also script the quest rewards instead of using the journal XP reward option.

               Noooo, not the plot wizard!

Seriously, it's only any good if you want to do exactly what the options are, and even then you could probably do as much with convos, journal entries and the (very limited) script wizard which is already built-in. For something as simple as what the plot wizard would let you do, it's probably more worth your while just to learn enough scripting to do it yourself (you shouldn't need much) since it's a lot easier to expand and scale up that way, and at least you know what you did if you have to come and fix it.
