Looking for an action module
« on: November 07, 2013, 04:27:03 pm »

                Hey all,

I miss NWN and PRC.

I wanna test a lot of chars in a module like endless nights for example. I want fast xp, fast loot so I can level a lot of different chars.

The module needs to be cep free and hak free so i can update it easily with prc module updater.

I tried Endless nights III but I spend more time running than leveling. Too much monsters overpowered

I tried after that the world of rhun. A nice world but I spend more time looking for monsters than leveling.

So I would like smalls zones like in endless nights with free loot and easy bashing monsters.

Don't hesitate to propose some modules '<img'>.

Thanks by advance.

You could use some modules to level-up your characters without bashing anything:

               Thanks for your answer buddy.

I'm aware of this kind of module but I would like a module where i can feel the progression, the building of my char.

Endless Nights was perfect when we were several but alone, it's a nightmare x_x.

Is Infinity Dungeons (premium module) in your reach?

If not there are other randomly generated modules..
L-4-T comes to my mind as of now.

You could try the Eye of the Beholder series.

Puzzles, tricks, traps, and foul beasts!

I found Endless Nights 3 more difficult than 4.  I therefore used EN4 a lot for character testing, found I could *usually* solo.  Set it to 100% XP and run around for a bit.  Infinite Dungeons might indeed suit too if you just want to do dungeon crawls.

Hi guys.  I designed the Endless Nights series.   I think 3, 4 and 6 are the key ones.  Each has their own flavor.   3 has limited areas and is definitely more about running around trying to stay alive at times, but because monsters are in different factions, you can lead certain types into other types.  (Undead will kill most anything else, etc.)

I think 4 is the most popular.  It's definitely got a good amount of difficulty combined with completely randomized loot.  You have the highest chance to find an item whose power is around your character level, but there's a moderate chance of finding items of just about any power.   So you can find something incredibly powerful at level 1.   There's also random starting bonuses that your character could receive.  It all adds up to powerful enemies and the chance of being quite powerful yourself.  You can also choose the evil side if you want.

Endless Nights 6 was trying to take some of those concepts but make it closer to pen and paper.  No extra lives.  Most items tend to be closer to the character's level.  Easier to get into 1 on 1 fights.   Henchman that allow you to play like a full party rather than solo.  Etc.

Endless Nights 5 was an attempt at the same concept, and while not horrible, I think I made some design mistakes that take away from the game.  6 is a lessons learned sort of thing.

I did the same concept on Android and iOS:

iTunes: https://itunes.apple...d779713007?mt=8

Android: https://play.google....e.EndlessNights

Unfortunately, I have very little graphical skill and being a one-man shop, it's turn based and uses public domain tilesets.  But if you like rogue-like games, I think it's pretty decent.
