Crowley's Mangificent Adventure is nearing release and as you may or may not know, CMA is a first for us at Dragon Studios as it is our longest and most traditional RPG module to date. There are over 200 conversations in the game and currently 120 + well detailed areas with plenty of enemies to battle and structures to explore. The companions are similar to companions The Lowland General 2 but updated more as they have things to say in certain regions and are directly involved in the story. Moreover, companions can now have their tactics managed and tactics in CMA is very important as the module is rather challenging and probably for those experienced with RPG's.

Here is a map of one region:

There are six regions in the module like this and each have their own quests, characters, enemies and loot to find. As you can imagine, the world is very big but fear not, for each area is detailed and there's much to do in nearly every area. Suffice to say; there are no barran areas. We at Dragon Studios recognize that RPG's are being dumbed down and we wanted to create an adventure which resembled RPG's of old. Here are some conversations in the game with dialogue options:

The dialogue system in this game allows the player to create a personailty for Crowley and you can pretty much influence and change him over the course of the adventure to suit your personal idea of a hero. You can choose who he romances, you can choose the reason why he is on his quest and you can even make him religious or non-religious. Crowley's Magnificent Adventure isn't just about the antagonist and questions in the previous series being answered, it's about the evolution of a drunkard into a hero. Crowley's tale literally beings with him drunk and almost unconcious in a tavern where one of his old friends drags him out and from there, Crowley will grow and change base on your decisions.

Inspired by Baldur's Gate, Crowley's Tale is set in a huge world where walking into the wrong cave or down the wrong path could lead to your untimely death at the hands of more powerful opponents. The video below shows just how old school the module is:

Having the right companions and right build is important to survival. If you rush into battles, you'll have no chance of winning.

Following in the footsteps of The Lowland General 2, Crowley's Tale also features choices with consequences but what with it being a 15 - 20 hour adventure, you will see some choices only having consequences later on in the story. There are also choices to make early on which will lead you down paths that you can't explore otherwise.

Looks interesting! So the char is preset Crowley, the fighter? Do other modules produced by tour group also came with predefined PC/Pc's class? Just asking, if I should add them to class-specific list(gosh it's been a long time since last update).
Also small hint on taking screenshots: use "h" button on your keyboard to hide GUI.(portraits remain)

Thanks! Yes, the preset character is Crowley and by default, he is a fighter although the module supports multiclassing, so you can level him up to be a cleric, wizard or rogue if you wish. The Lowland General 2 comes with a preset character called Lucan Gedeliah but unlike with CMA, you can choose The Lowland General's race, gender, first name and class, only his/her last name is referenced in game.

Rise of a Legend and The Lowland General 1 (fighter only module) don't come with any preset characters. And yes I know that h hides the GUI but I forgot to hide the GUI before initiating the conversations and pressing h during the conversations seems to hide the dialogue boxes as well. I couldn't restart the conversation because those conversations only happen once. When you talk to the same character again, they always have something different to say and talking to them for a second time is where you can ask questions whereas talking for the first time allows you to role play.

I've just read this topic and I was amazed to learn that another one of your modules is approaching its release - I like the focus on providing the player with as many options as possible in solving quests, not to mention choices with visible and non-trivial consequences. So, I'm definately looking forward to this new mod - should you look someone to beta test the module, i'd be more than willing to do so.

Hi ! Your mods seem really amazing! I need some info:

- For The Lowland General in your site project on mddb I find only the DEMO version. It's just a typo? If it's not a typo where can I find the full version?

- Is there a mandatory/suggested order to play the modules?

- Is there save import in a module from previous modules, and if yes in what module(s) from which one(s)?

Thanks for your answer!

Samtam90 will be helping to test the module when it is finished. We'd be more than willing to accept more testers. I'm pretty confident that most bugs and errors will be eliminated by the team anyway and thus you'd only probably be providing feedback before the module is released.

@MaxQuariroli

It was a mistake. That's the full version of the module.

The modules are meant to be played in this order:

Dravet The Dark Lord.
Rise of a Legend.
The Lowland General.
The Lowland General 2.

Dravet The Dark Lord is a rather short module really introducing the player to the series' main antagonist along with some lore of the universe. Rise of a Legend introduces players to the world and The Lowland General 1 is pretty much a hack and slash module simply giving players the perceptive of the world from a general's eyes.

The Lowland General 2 is where it all starts off though. The Lowland General 2 introduces the dialogue choices, choices and consequences, free-roaming and polish that is absent from Rise of a Legend and Dravet - The Dark Lord. Crowley's Tale further expands upon this with further improved dialogue and choices with consequences. The previous adventures had flaws but I believe we've addressed them all in this latest adventure.

Put simply: play through all the modules most certainly but fret not about any flaws you find in them. Our scripting and dialogue have improved since Rise of a Legend. I myself personally can't believe that I've worked on Crowley's Tale. I was playing it the other day and I said to myself "It's too big! There's so many choices and different outcomes."

There's no save import.

Sorry for the late reply.

It's not released yet and when it is, it'll be released on our official Moddb page first:

http://www.moddb.com...forgotten-realm

I still can't believe that this was meant to be a rather quick and short adventure that lasted for four hours. It's turned into an epic tale spanning across multiple chapters with branching consequences and different paths to be taken. At the moment I think it'll take 20+ hours to complete everything and there's still much more content to be added.
