What do you think?
« on: September 18, 2011, 02:09:29 pm »

               What do you think of this trailer for Crowley's Adventure:

Trailer

As shown in the trailer, there are plenty of unique enemies to battle and the locations are stunning and show the Aurora NWN engine at its best. I died 20 times while making this trailer because that's how hard Crowley's Adventure is. You can learn more about it here:

Article

Basically, it's our first attempt at a module which not only offers difficulty in enemies at a early stage in the game but also offers difficulty in quests and you could even get lost exploring the open world. The result is an adventure that doesn't hold your hand.

               Can't see the trailer, though the pictures looked OK I guess..

You would probably be better to post AVI files on Youtube & link them to the forums.

Anyway, not much to read about, so what do I think?

Looks incomplete & was not planned out well, because if I cannot see the trailer, that means many others will not be able to either.  The information you gave was extremely limited.

That's being polite, not trying to be critical of you or your module, but you will need to make some changes if you want to attract people.

               @_Guile

Since you didn't specify where your problem occurs or what message you are getting, I can't help. It works fine on my browser and jmlzemaggo seems to have viewed it.

@jmlzemaggo

They come from CEP.

               Heh...maybe you should start building again?

@_Guile

You mentioned that the article had a lack of information. If you're interested in more, you can read all the other news about the module posted here:

               Are you using Ninjaweasels romance animations in this module (from your 'Crowley being Crowly' shot I thought you might be)?

I viewed your trailer with no problems at all '<img'>

So, this is a hard core heavy on the H&S and adventure, non-linear type of game? It sounds like it will have a good many game hours to it, which is great. How is the leveling in your module, is XP high and fast, or have you restricted the flow so that a player might spend 40+ hours getting from lvl 1-40?

Are you using any other haks apart from the CEP?

               Thanks for the link, that was a lot more helpul than the first link...

From what I have seen, this looks very high quality, good dialogue, good scenery, good layout, custom content, everything a player looks for & hopes for..

I don't really build much mate, I script more than I build, it's what I enjoy doing.

After you write 2,000 - 3,000 scripts & 20,000 - 40,000 words of dialogue, then you just don't have the desire to build countless areas, npcs, items, monsters, and lay them all out in a fancy array to entertain your guest with...

I built a few modules but they were not on the level of something like this, good work!

               Sorry for the very late reply people:

@Queensilverwing

No, I'm not using Ninjaweasels' romance animations. That screen was simply promotional but if you do pursue the romance, you will see Crowley and Amelia (which that female tiefling is called) nude (just no sex organs showing because you don't see the sex scene).

It's not heavy in hack and slash as some enemies can be avoided (you don't have to kill every creature in an area and there are respawns in case you want to rack up in EXP) but there will be some fighting if the player wishes. However, the player can simply go straight into the story and avoid fighting altogether because persuasion, intimidate and other dialogue options will all play their own role but there are side quests which will feature fighting no matter what.

The XP is average I'd say. At 5 hours in, I was LV10 and there are LV 40 monsters. So if you want to kill all unique enemies, get their equipment and loot and complete all side quests, you will have be spending time building your character up.

Other haks include a hak that changes the textures of bodies, adds different area textures and a hak that adds ceilings.

@_Guile

Thanks and at this moment, only I have worked on the module, once my team mate gets to work on it and makes it lore accurate for the D&D universe and adds additional features, it should be our best module yet.

               I looked at your website.  From what I can tell you have the following finished modules:
Tales of a Forgotten Realm - The Lowland General 2
Tales of A Forgotten Realm - The Rise of A Legend
Tales of a Forgotten Realm - Dravet: The Dark Lord

Is there any order they should be played in?  Are any good for multi-player?

               It's Dravet: The Dark Lord which is first (though this is a short module meant for the player to learn some of the more important lore and background of Devron).
Rise of a Legend
Lowland General 1
Lowland General 2

Crowley's Magnificent Tale is set before Rise of a Legend but extends to beyond The Lowland General 2 but it has nothing to do with the main plot which Rise of a Legend and Lowland General 2 is the stage for.
