Playtesters wanted for very short battle scenario!

               The Battle of Lieder Valley

A NWN battle scenario by Bubba McThudd
 http://social.biowar...m/project/4572/

The notorious orc chieftain Garnak the Red has been sighted with a raiding party in the upper Lieder valley. A small force has been raised in nearby Niederburne and hurriedly dispatched to trap and destroy Garnak before his main army can come to his rescue.
The Niederburne militia, reinforced by a small but battle hardened troop of Templars from Agrenost, has formed up on the south side of the foggy Lieder valley where they await the arrival of their commander. Goblin war-drums beat in the distance as the men of Niederburne peer nervously into the pale gloom.
You arrive to find your war-horse ready and waiting. Gather your bodyguard of mounted sergeants, then speak to Marshal DeVries to plan your attack.

------------note--------------

In addition to the haks for Agrenost - Beneath the Cobbles, you will also need the visually stunning haks "wrm_SeasonalV10.hak" and "wrm_PW_Creature.hak" by Lord of Worms. They are available at this site:

This is an early version of a battle scenario that will eventually be incorporated into a sequel for Agrenost - Beneath the Cobbles. It only takes a few minutes to play.

This is a beta test; I want to get some feedback from the community before I go crazy adding battles to my next mod. What I would like to know is -

1) General impressions? Fun or frustrating?
2) Performance? I fear that I may be pushing older machines to the limit with all the troops on the field. If you are experiencing lag, how bad is it and what are the particulars of the machine you are using?
3) Suggestions?

Thanks!

It's probably best for a fighter/paladin around level 5-7, but I'd be interested to see how a mage or low-level character would do.  Probably would not want to lead the charge - better for non fighters to general from the rear.

I think you also need to have fma horses in order to play this. They seem to not have been included in Agrenost' files. Here is the link:

I run two playthroughs, first with 7th level paladin (with little overpowered gear) and second with 5th level paladin (with underpowered gear). First time I lost only one sergeant thanks to troll, but the second time was not so victorious. Suffice to say I acquired my first +1 mace from orc corpse:p. Thanks to luring tactics this time I lost 1 ranger and 2 sergeants, but the troll managed to kill my PC.

Both times I stood ground, because frontal attack seemed to be insane, especially that they had rangers. It would be good to either remove the higher ground behind my army or give player the option to fall back to the hills. In my second attempt I used rally option in order to do this.
It is nice touch to have the rally point displayed on the map, but after using it few times the mini map have multiple rally points, maybe you should script them to be removed when you order rally again?
Also the troops should be friendly not neutral in order to move aside when PC wants a pass. I understand the Nobleman’s Walking Stick could the trick since it is a sequel.
My 7th level paladin summoned his own mount, "who" was better then given.
Templar captain talks about some Ivan - probably from Agrenost:)
I wasn't able to command the dornite ranger.
"level up failed in class 4" message for all my sergeants. Oh and I think you mispelled the word "sergeant".
My troops are scared? War drums mentioned in description(not heard in the game although I'm probaly deaf since they are included in the sounds... maybe making drum music theme?). Why not have a motivating talk with them? Different for militia, templars, peasants?
Basically that's all.

Could I ask you something? I recently started playing Sultan's Guard and weird bug appeared out of nowhere: my game crashes after opening spellbasin in the crypts. I checked it in toolset and it contains 2 holy water grenades. I remember I had almost the same problem with game crashing upon opening holding bag with similar grenade like weapons in another mod. Any ideas how to fix it? Is it caused by my version of the game(1.69) and my override or is it just the module specific bug? Thanks in advance:)

Thanks for the detailed feedback, it is much appreciated!  Did you experience any lag?  How fast is your computer?

Re: Sultan's Guard.  I'll check it out.  Try emptying your override folder and downloading a fresh copy of the mod.

No lags, even on highest settings, my computer data: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2,66GHz, 3,25GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and of course Windows XP.

Thank you for help with SG, I already tried emptying override, but forgot to try downloading the mod again. I'm going to check that now.

Good luck with that, Bubba McThudd!
Good job.
