A faithful Neverwinter Nights conversion of the 3E campaign module
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. Includes extensive new custom content as well as a lot of the best quality content produced by the NWN community. As with the original adventure, many of the module's plot elements are dynamic, and things play out differently each time it is played. This module includes custom implemented systems for silver weapons, holy symbols, and secret doors. There are over 80 different types of monsters and over 60 unique NPCs. Additional NWN custom content includes updated tilesets, new monsters, new PC gear, new placeables, lots of custom scripted monster abilities, and much more. Single player, multiplayer and DM-assisted play are supported. Multiple henchmen with detailed personalities are also be available to round out your adventuring party.
Progress will be updated on the Bioware site project pages (gallery, threads, etc.) for anyone interested in keeping up to date. If you are excited about this project, please considering clicking on the "Subscribe to Project" link on the right side. You can also click on the big green plus sign (+) where it says "Popularity" in the upper right hand corner of the project page. That will cause this project to show up higher in search results. Or, for those of you who don't want to be exposed to any spoilers at all, you can just subscribe to the thread you're reading now. Periodic no-spoiler project updates will be posted here.
I will also be setting up a project collaboration web site soon to coordinate with team members and anyone else that would like to help out with this project. I would welcome contributions both large and small from community members -- particularly texture artists, 3D modelers, animators, and BIK movie makers. And of course, play testers will be needed as we approach release. All contributions, regardless of how large or small, will of course be fully credited in the module documentation.
I've just completed the list of all required module assets, and am currently cross referencing that list with all the available community made custom content. After this is complete, it will be straightforward to list out what assets will need to be altered or created new. Contributors will be able to choose items to work on using an a la carte approach based on having a task for each required asset.
If you are interested in helping out with this project, please feel free to either send me a site message or make a post in the
Volunteer Here! thread of the project Discussions area. Thank you!
My current plan is to push through this project fairly quickly. I'm making no firm promises here, but if I can possibly release this by Halloween 2010 then I will do so. That will entirely depend on real life commitments between now and then which are highly subject to change, but I will try.
