Windows pre vista symlink

                im not a common user of windows and i cant find any information on symlinks or variable symlinks that arent for vista only, is there a similar feature before windows vista?

               Since I had no Idea what you where asking, I did a quick google search and came up with this quote.

One of the long-awaited features in Windows Vista was the ability to use symbolic links, the way you can in linux. Sadly, they don’t work quite as well as they could, but it’s a big upgrade from prior versions, and has solved a number of problems for me already.

               I think the closest you're going to get (say, on Windows XP) are "junctions", though I've had crappy luck with 'em.
