NWN1 Community on X-Fire

               Hello all fellow NWN:ers! Wanted to bring to your attention that we have this guild/community thingie over at the X-Fire site.

The aim of this community is to help players joining and finding servers by communicating with each other. No one wants to play alone... We have a couple of tips on servers on the front page but we play on any other good servers as well. You are welcome to post your own favorite servers in the forums over there and you can ask me if you want to make announcments in the news section.

X-Fire is a chat software with a serverbrowser and many other features:

- See what game and on what servers your friends are playing. Join them with one click.
- See where the friends of your friends are playing.
- Chat directly. Messages will pop up in-game. No need to ALT+TAB anymore to check your MSN.
- MSN support and others. So you can send ye' ol' Microsoft application into the grave.
- Voice chat ( 1on1 or group)
- It automizes taking screenshots and video and putting them on the webb. You can even have live streaming from your gaming session from your computer onto the website.
- Join guilds and get access to all the members in your friends list.

               Lets first start by defining the word community as most people have no problem defining NWN as a game that many of us play. I refer to my community as the whole of NWN. Singe Players who only play SP Modules or the Admins here or just about anyone who has ever picked up and played NWN. They are part of the community.
 
So community is; a group linked by a common policy or a body of persons having a common history or common interests
 
So in naming yourself something as broad as the NWN Community you must strive to represent not only your own interest but those inside the whole Community as well. All of them. You even state this on your front page with the text below.
 

For all Neverwinter Nights ( NWN 1 ) players
 
The purpose of this guild is to help fellow NWN1 players to find each other and good servers to play at. There are a couple of example favourite servers. Most of theese are low or medium magic roleplay servers but we also play together at any other good NWN1 servers out there.

 
 
You then list these favorite servers. The top one of course is your own. We went ahead and listed the numbers underneath them of the players playing as well just for reference. You sated that this list is a list of your favorite servers yet here up above you say this;

Now bad grammar aside this leads me to believe this is really just an advertisement for your server. Kind of shameless. When we did the Forgotten Realms Fantasy Football we did not mention our server as it was for the Community. Not just our server. Something you might want to consider when you try and pull the wool over a Community's eyes as most of us...heck...about every gamer we ever met has been a bit smarter than normal.
 
When a Community chooses the favorite servers like FRC or Narfell then we would not see anything wrong with it but suggesting they did and in reality you doing so is a bit of a fail.

please refrain from constantly posting after me with your attacks. It has gotten to a point where it is quite irritating.
Surpringly enough your post contains some parts that are actually worth answering. Even though your ways are mysterious...

Yes I have chosen to lift some not so well known servers to attention there. Just because I call it the NWN community on X-Fire doesn't mean I have to list all the most popular servers there which anyway can be easily obtained from within the game.

Maybe you are thinking that the more people a server has the "better" it is....but it is not like that.

In X-Fire you can have whichever favourite servers you want in your own list....theese are just some "examples" as the text pretty much says.

Actually though if you post something as a Community then post your own stuff as the head or anything you work on it calls into question your own motives. That is my problem with it. It is basically false advertising like say...trying to say your module Underworld is number 1 when in reality it is not. I find it disturbing that you do this. Imagine if the AMA Modding ONLY voted on thier own stuff or listed themselves as first? Or if the Vault did this? If you would kindly correct it and post the truth that those picks are not the Community's Favortie Servers but servers you play on, run, or otherwise have worked on then I would let it alone. But you still have not made the corrections.

No I do not. I think people though that are new or even old hands can and do feel mislead by your descriptions and list. You have acted several times demanding we do what is what you think is right on the forums here. I relented on the PW vs Ye Tavern because I can see your point. But do you even bother to see someone elses?

The bottom line is when you name yourself The NWN Community then you need to not have even the slightest hint of favortism and allow the Community as a whole to dictate things otherwise you become nothing other than a despot and that is at odds to a Community at large.

               You have such a great logic. So lets say for example the "Community Expansion Pack". If they have ANYTHING there that was not voted the best by the community (insert: you) they are not allowed to have that?



The fact is that THEY have to choose what material they want to bring into the hak pak because it is THEIR hak pak.



Just because TSMDude comes along and says...

"OK...look now CEP...if you don't include exactly this hak in your hak pak I will continue and spam you forever until you do".



The numbers in that list do not represent anything. It is not like it is the best server or anything. I mean...you will find that ALL the other servers listed their are not mine.



Besides...it says they are example servers.



Can someone please get this guy of my back?
