'<img'> It's not worth taking the server down. Things can be fixed and made better. No need to scrap the whole project.

I agree. There will always be folks how have complaints, criticisms, demands, etc... . But, in the end you have to build and host a Pw for your own pleasure. Eventually, others of like minds will find it and join. It just takes awhile is all.

Myself and 3-4 players (4 if you count Ez '<img'>) played all the time. It was a good playerbase for a new module, just starting back up and all. I had more experience than anyone in the new module. I stayed up late and played a lot, etc. I had a level 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9. It was the best experience I've had in NwN since I began playing back in 2002. I didn't just try CoN. I played CoN and I believe in it. The new module starts out slow. The falcons, badgers and goblins aren't much of a challenge at all. So much so that if one was to brag about powering through them I'd probably die of laughter. Things get interesting shortly after finishing the first quest. Everything after that is just plain mean. You start finding a lot of interesting areas, items and discovery points by then as well. I hope it comes back. I wanna play. I enjoyed it a lot.

It's not mean to say that the new server is not as good as the old server, it is simply the truth. If one is going to release content for the public, one has to anticipate that people will have opinions on that content, that might not all be praise. The ability to take constructive criticism is important for anyone who is in a position of authority (or in this case owner of the mod) because it means that they can sort out their disappointment from the actual issue and work toward fixing it.

When I first brought up my complaints and criticisms on the original forum, they were met with ''if you don't like it, leave.'' That's not the way to attract and retain players. If you all want to have your server but don't want to attract players, who might have an opinion that is different than your own, than put a password on it, or play it in a virtual lan and don't advertise. Otherwise people will join, and may not like how things are done, and they may say so.

I'm reasonably sure Swunk meant that the monsters/challenge ramps up (aka, the *builder* is "mean" to the players) by that statement.

Yep re-read it and that's probably what he meant. Still doesn't change what I said about the server creator though. The whole ''I'm taking my toys and going home'' thing is what I'd expect from my child, not an adult.

I don't disagree, was just saying Swunk wasn't calling criticism "mean."

I find it funny how entitled some of you are. You expect that because you don't like something that I should instantly drop everything and change it to your whim. Never once did I say "if you don't like it, leave", I explained every choice I made to you.

It simply isn't worth my time to continue the development. I don't OWE you my time, the time I have spent could have easily been used towards something actually productive in my life. If you want to come in here after all this is done, and continue to argue and make me out to be the bad guy, instead of just letting it go, then you are the child.

Again. I do not work for you. I do not owe you my mod, or my time, or my "toys".

Get over it.

Hardly.  I never said anything along those lines, let alone actually expected it.  What I did expect is that you would react to feedback from a new player maturely -- not to insult me and claim that I was bad and wanted everything handed to me on a silver platter.  You could have simply said "Thank you for your feedback, I'll consider it and update an aspect of the module if I see fit."

I want to echo what Magical Master just said. I gave you lots of positive reviews on your forum too. I really enjoyed the trade skills, the storyline, the idea of exploring and finding secrets. But the second I said anything negative, which was merely that:

1) 5xp is a lark for something that is not a RP server.

2) The starting area (and the subsequent three areas) seemed very bland, compared to the amazing dark world you previously created.

At which point, you stopped talking to me, deleted the posts after giving me a terse ''don't like it? tough'' response and finally proceeded to ignore everything else I had to say, until I started talking here (which I only did because you deleted your own forum.) If I can't make it anymore clear: You're behaving like an ass. Just take some damned criticism and even if you don't make any changes, accept it with a little dignity.
