NWN on an AMD APU
« on: November 06, 2014, 11:58:24 am »

I bought a budget system that includes an AMD APU (Sempron 2650), but I have not yet installed NWN. I am curious if NWN will run on it.
I've read that NWN does not run well on ATI (AMD), but I wonder if the situation was corrected.
I have never had ATI, Nvidia only (until now, obviously).
I still have a Nvidia card, which I could install it, but I'm really curious if NWN runs on the integrated graphics of the Sempron. I understand that is a Radeon R3.

Thanks for any clarifications. '<img'>

I think you made a confusion. I'm talking about this Sempron: http://www.cpu-world...650JAH23HM.html.

I am curious if NWN runs on it. Does anyone have a similar setup? I want to know because I plan to use the integrated graphics.

Can't answer exactly your question as i don't own this kind of AMD APU. But i have run Nwn on multiple older AMD computers (K6, K7, K8 architectures, 32 or 64 bits, various A64 breeds) with legacy ATI cards without problems (sometimes you need to track the right drivers...). If its x86 compatible, i suspect it should run, at least with your nvidia card. I think you will have to disable one of the cores for good perfs (there is a switch for that in a neverwinter config file) and install Nwn in "Windows XP" compatibility mode and with administrator rights.

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck.

Yes, the processor is x86 (and x86-64) compatible. And the OS is Win 7 x64. I have to install NWN when I'll have time. And I hope that everything will go well.

With AMD/ATI graphics, you will need to disable shiny water.
