Hello i am looking for something that reduces bugs. I played 1.69 (without cep) recently and had major extreme bugs everywhere. One was so bad that i got so frustrated and deleted my game (i was in the middle of chapter 3, HotU) and installed 1.68.

The bug was when deekin and aribeth was supposed to talk to eachother, it didnt work. I remember having this bug 4 years ago. I had hoped that it had been fixed.

Anyone have any advice on mods/addons?

I know none of that one, but if you find it, you're welcome to let me know.

Try the general forum.

Sorry, I didn't see that post for a while, this forum is just so uneasy...

If you post the bug when you have the problem, Someone may be able to figure out a fix for you by useing the concole commands.  But if you are currently not having the problem it is kind of hard to figure out what is going on.

EDIT: Sorry for the off topic responce here.

Hi all. I'm coming back to NWN from a long hiatus, never finished the game. When I did play (in fits and starts) there were a few mods/haks/overrides I used for game fixes, improvements, and "cheats".

Now that I'm getting back into the game, I'd love to know if any of these files/mods still work with the present 1.69 update, or, in the case of fixes specifically, if the bugs they fixed have since been corrected in official patches, making them unecessary (or if new or different versions of fixes should be used).

I'm mentioning these so that 1 - I know whether I still can/need to use them without possibly messing up my install, and 2, possibly adding to your wonderful collection in this thread. Here goes:

"Fixes"
Whitetower's feat.2da (allows NPC's to use feats they couldnt before)
http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=4621

ArQon's EMS (updates/corrects spells)
http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=5037

Tharizdun Jones' Trap Fixes
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Scripts.Detail&id=2334

AlanC9's Special Abilities Fix (for Animals, beasts et al)
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Scripts.Detail&id=2312

"Cheats"
OldManWhistlers Speed Override (Increases PC speed, decreases rest duration)
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=2792

"Other"
NDubya Config (Replacement config window - was VERY useful  - play in windowed mode, disable intro, lots of other options)
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=259

Hope some of this is helpful. And thanks regardless!

That's a great gift, Scotthabs. I'm no, in fact not at all, NWN tech myself to answer anything "valuable" on that particular 1.69 update point. I might try a few of those myself with the flow, and I'm sure some highly skilled NWN (PC) wizards will make the deserved use of it.

Thanks again.

looks good except its not updated for 1.69, I will try to update it, looks promising for my patch

Tharizdun Jones' Trap Fixes

Whats the problem with traps in 1.69? I know only about one visual effect mismatched. And even if there would be something broken, using only *.ncs can't recommend to anyone. Very bad idea.

ArQon's EMS (updates/corrects spells)

Not override.

AlanC9's Special Abilities Fix (for Animals, beasts et al)

Outdated, 1.69 version uses different numbers.

Yah, thats the thing. I noticed those bugs years ago, but as I havent played the game since, Im not sure if those bugs even still exist through the newer patches. So for the traps question specifically, not sure if they are still broken.

I'm glad you were able to make some use of any of them.

And just to reiterate, the NW Config file (which I used just last night) is absolutely fantastic for game config tweaks. I think itd be a great addition to your list.

               @ Scotthabs

You're talking about:

"Other"

NDubya Config (Replacement config window - was VERY useful  - play in windowed mode, disable intro, lots of other options)

http://nwvault.ign.c...r.Detail&id=259

You saying you tried it and it worked fine is highly sufficient for me to add it to the list.

(I'm a Mac player)

So, that one is going in, 'mind checking if I didn't do anything sensless?

For instance, I found this on the vault page:

"You need a copy of MSVBVM60.DLL in your C:\\windoes\\system dir for this to work..."

Does that sound like a (PC) problem?

I checked my winsows directory on my XP machione, and I do not have that file in there. I have executed the NDubyaconfig file, and have been using it to run NWN in windows mode, get rid of all the intro movies, and open up all the chapters/modules as choices right from the start of the game.. No issues whatsoever. (Yet!  Haha)

Ill keep you posted.

Two Questions...I just got the latest version downloaded (1.69) and a zip of the CEP. First,Where do I unzip the CEP in the NWN folder? Second, When I unzip a mod...like "Neverquest"...there are files ending "tlk" that I see no folder for. If I understand correctly, files marked as "hac" go in the folder marked as such, but what about those files lilke the "tlk" and others... is there a general rule I can follow to place these so I can play the mod...I find no "readme" to answer these questions.

  thank you

"tlk" files go into a the \\\\tlk directory found in your Neverwinter Nights installation directory.

If you do not have one, just make one.

I'm not sure about CEP. I figured they had their own installation with the .exe version. If you downloaded something else, you might have to do it manually.

Also, it's worth mentioning that even having CEP downloaded does not mean it will make changes to the official game in any way or to modules that do not make use of its content. Only modules that use CEP will have and allow you to enjoy CEP additions.

FP!

Sorry, but I am a computer idiot...NWN installation directory, would that be the folder listed NWN with all of the  hac, music, patch...etc. folders? If it is and there is no tlk directory, you said just to make one...do I name it \\\\\\\\tlk?

thank you
