Open SOU - toolset newb help
« on: June 22, 2016, 06:51:17 pm »

So I've done some minor editing on modules in the past with the Toolset, so I figured importing the Mischa NPC into SOU shouldn't be difficult.  But when I open the toolset and click "open" to open the module, none of the game system modules are offered as a choice - no OC, SOU, HOTU, Kingmaker, etc.  What are listed are the default modules in the module folder (Contest of Champions, Dark Ranger's Treasure, etc).

I've tried running nwtoolset as administrator as well, but same thing.

Am I missing something basic here?  I searched both google and the search function here and didn't find anything helpful.

thanks in advance,

Dante

You have to add "codewords" to your nwnplayer.ini

the mods that ship with the game- are in the nwm folder and have the .nwm ending- copy the file to your modules folder, and then click on it and rename it giving it the .mod ending it will say you can mess it up doing this, but it never has in 11 years!

Yes.  The bioware modules are in the nwm folder with a .nwm extension. I believe you can rename them .mod and put them in modules to get access in the toolset.  You should be able to put them back in nwm with the .nwm extension after editing.  Make a backup copy though.  Also I don't think this is possible with the premium modules.  There's no single module though. They are broken up by chapters.

What meaglyn said- they are broken up into chapters- if you want to rename the chapters after you have made changes- haks, scripts, other content- you will need to adjust the script that fires to load the next chapter. Fair warning finding the script that does load the next chapter is a nightmare, most of the chapter scripting is named with letter/number combos. to find the actual script best bet is to open any script, then use the find button and type in load, or load mod, or chapter. The proper script should then come up, with exact line in the code that has it.
