A question about the dialog box with those creatures. If I feed them they will be healed but what about the other choices? Do they get other results or are simply useless?

Absolutely, as useless as tenderness itself! ''

Now... Spoilers!!!!!!!!!

They can heal, as you found out, scout the area, accept new equipment & change the gear they're using, and how far they'd behave in a fight, safely or to the death...
You can even possess them, familiar only I think?, and as a wizard becoming one of the best rogue around...

Please, tell me more! What do you mean by saying "scouting the area" or "accept new equip"? Well, I am playing with the basic italian installation with 1.68 patch (1.69 not available in my language...) maybe those are features whiche I have not.

Maybe... I forgot since I've always played NWN with Tony K's AI. But I thought these options came with the "regular basic" familiar/companion dialog...
Check my "Tips" link in my signature if you want to install TK's AI. I've been using ever since I first played NWN. (talking SP here, single player)
For that kind of many reasons; but mostly for the AI itself.
You could ask it to scout the area for you and report for the enemies it found, or fight... give it a ring, armor or weapon to use...
and even become it, be a panther or a pixie for instance...

Tony K still provides the 1.07 version on the same page as the one that jml suggested... so use that one for your v1.68 patch version of NWN.  It is so very considerate when an author continues to provide support for players of diverse resources.

Only familiars (the pets of arcanists) can be possessed and used as scouts.  The pixie has always been my favorite and can achieve a very high rogue skill level especially if pre-buffed with Cat's Grace and Fox's Cunning prior to possessing it.  Then with an invisibility potion/spell can do all the trap management and unlocking with complete impunity unless a True Seer spoils the fun. Oh, other than feeding or possessing the other options are strictly for enhancing roleplay.  Always have fun with your pet 'B)'

Make a copy of your current "overide" folder, and mark it as a "No Tony K override folder". And pay attention to the many options when installing it.

I got it! Installed and almost tested. There is a major bug, at least in the ITA version, but it depends on the patch itself (1.68) and not in Tony K AI. Overall it is an improved experience!
