Enserric - Spoilers
« on: October 16, 2011, 04:37:53 am »

               During the dialogue where u get Enserric, I took it, but as a Longsword. I know I should have said have no need for LS, but now that option is gone. Is there a way that I can get it as a Bastard Sword? My hench is a BS Master (ha ha ha.... ) and I'd love to see it as a BS.

               No dice. Since it doesn't seem to offer the BS shape anyway, but only:
Enserric the Dagger
Enserric the Greatsword
Enserric the Longsword
Enserric the Shortsword
(Cheat-codes in my list below, just in case... unless you can work it out in the PC editor? It seems possible to pass on its 'properties' to any new weapon (specifically, the intelligent item properties and the 'tag').)

I'm not sure your henchy could "special-use" it anyway, so just give him any BS around, telling that's  Enserric, innocently mentionning this smart sword is known to talk only with the smartest people, and switch to any other subject right away.
You won't hear from both of them no more.

               Thanx, its sad there is no BS shpae for E. Nevertheless, GMW, Keen and Flame Weaponmake any weapon better than any non epic stuff, so thats what my WM has had for some time (E has Vampiric though which is nice).

               You'll have the option of making any type of weapon incredibly good during the campaign, so just get a Bastard Sword +3 to +5 and soup it up when you get there.

As MM stated, there's much better in store.

I wouldn't fret much about the Enseric choices as the talking weapon property being apparently very valuable (as is the vampiric prop) will limit the number of Rizolvir enhancements (there's a ceiling!), preventing it from becoming a top-o-the-line weapon. You'll be forced to sell it anyway, in that case. '<img'>

               Thx a bunch !

BTW - SPOILERS and off topic -, I am at that Lolth Temple now and just managed to detonate that betraying Matron.

I remember that before THE battle we get to see the Val and Mephi on pleasant convo's *twice*, and after that... big krakatoa. THE battle starts.

I usually do the following sequence:

- Detonate Matron (OK);
- Visit two Isles (Maker and Elf);
- Detonate Beholder
- D Undead;
- D Illithid, free slaves, etc...

THEN go back to Centre, sell all stuff, rest for spells, talk to Seeress, etc... I remember at some point some chutiya comes running telling V is about to kick ass and all....

What does trigger these Val-M talk scenes? I ask this coz I wanna be able to be fully prepared and having visited / updated the Seeress as much as possible (getting xp and all).

Thx - p

Completing each quest will trigger the next Valsharess cutscene when you enter the city.  The sequence of completing each quest doesn't matter and IIRC you must actually move your party into the city area to trigger the cutscene.  Using the relic to go back to the temple bypasses the cutscene but once you leave the temple, it should trigger as designed.  I seem to recall that boarding the ship also triggers the same cutscenes.

You can only use the merchants in the city until 3 quests have been completed.  When the 4th one is done, Imloth will rush up as soon as you leave the temple or enter the city.  So the best way to redeem as much as possible is to finish up 3 quests then take the remaining 2 as far as you can without the critical action.  I usually leave the boss battle for Beholder Tyrant and the Elder brain negotiation for last and set bindings just before entering their areas.  But use whatever sequence makes the most sense to you.  As long as you limit your movement to bindings for the last 2 quests, you can finish all 5.

Thats very useful info indeed, HiPMaestro. I had a feeling that stepping inside the City Core could be a trigger so I ste an anchor inside the Lolth Temple. But after so much $, selling whatever to the Djinn is sth I can live with, rether than rush to the battle scene.

               Keep in mind there is a merchant in the undead place.  That merchant will give you better prices than the djinni.  There is also a merchant with the mind flayers (of course, you can only deal with that merchant if you haven't made the city hostile on you yet).

               Thx Mystery X, I noticed that. Just cleaned the undead area (including the innocent free slaves), but before that I did a little shopping, and to my surprise, my Wizard was buying stuff off he Duergar Merchant at a price which he sold back at more or less 10% mark up! I already had almost 2 milllion by that time, so I didnt bother...

Yes, as I played a Wizard and kept him thru OC and SoU, I sold everything I got my hands on (except for scrolls), adding Continual Flame when possible.

Funny thing, you start the HotU with high end gear, that drow robes you off you stuff but hey you got to keep your whole money 'Posted

Cast continue light(Wiz 2/Clr 3) at a weapon or armor and its price goes up! I made around 1.3million dollar at chapter 2...

The price for selling is highest for the Duergar merchant in isle of maker, then the merchant in Undead zone(sometimes reversed, depends on you CHA and skill in appraise), then the weapon upgrade smith at seer's camp, and the high merchant beside temple of seer. In fact the sommoning Dijini buy your items for least price!(maybe his appraise skill is too high compare to you)'Posted

To change the shape of Enserric, you must ask before you pick it up from the undead king. But only dagger,longsword,great sword or short sword forms available.

At the first time I completed HOU, I guess Enserric sword may able to exitst the sword and enter a Golem if you create right way, however, I could not complete with Enserric willing to leave the sword and enter the Golem in the last section of Isle of maker. (Enserric mentioned he forgot his past--->he think he can cast out his soul if a suitable body found(Golem?!)--->Golem can be made in the Isle of maker)'Posted

So if we can create a Golem by joing its parts and a soul gem, and the Enserric inside the chamber of Golem creation...'Posted

It may require further patches to add into. This way is not possible up to 1.69.'Posted

If you need bastard sword, there are two very powerful at the end of Chapter 3, but it take you quite a long way to get them. However, once you got them, you will understand how powerful they are! 'Posted

Remind you normally the most powerful single wepaon in the game is "Radiant Death +12"'Posted

It is a Katana(Exotic weapon feat require), but it can equip either one or two hands.
